AD Business Development Officer
The Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College (CFBC) Board of Governors invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position at the CFBC:
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Summary: The Business Development Officer identifies and generates income and funding for the College. This role is central to the identification of alternative revenue streams that will be key in building the autonomy and financial sustainability of CFBC. The BDO builds stakeholder engagement and secures small grants to augment the College’s budget and facilitates the development of Business Plans to commercialize aspects of the College’s operations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Identify and maximize alternative revenue streams for the College.
2. Undertake research to identify sectors with requirements that can be met by the College.
3. Engage with external stakeholders in the relevant sectors in business and industry to maximize revenue.
4. Meet with clients face-to-face to share details of the college’s programme offerings and training opportunities.
5. Write business plans including budgets and implementation strategies for income generating projects.
6. Prepare non-research grant proposals to local, regional and international agencies to secure funding for the college.
7. Support the Marketing and Communication function to increase revenue and stakeholder engagement.
8. Develop and maintain a database of influential donors and private sector sponsors.
9. Monitor, report and evaluate income generating projects and all grant proposals.
10. Complete any other duties as requested.
Qualification and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing or a related area
• Five years’ relevant professional experience.
• Experience with:
– Preparation of Business Plans
– Entrepreneurship ecosystem development
– Grant proposal writing and project implementation
– Project monitoring and evaluation
– Public relations and community engagement
• Strong project management skills.
• Experience in identification of market opportunities through enterprise, grants and partnerships.
• Prior Experience in higher education and working with a senior management team would be an asset. Experience in fostering long-term mutually beneficial relationships with stakeholders.
• Proven track record of securing fundraising and other revenue streams

Salary:
