A family member cannot be a recommender. A person who is not a family member but has known the applicant for 2 years or more and owns a business stamp may be a recommender.
Do I still need to provide my Birth Certificate to renew my passport although I am in possession of a passport?
Yes, A birth certificate is always required when applying for a new or renewing a passport.
Will my original documents be returned?
Yes, all original documents are returned with your new passport.
Will my passport be returned if it has a visa from another country?
Yes, the old passport will be returned with the new.
Can payment be made by personal cheque, interac, credit card or etransfer?
Payment can only be made in the form of a money order.
Can you send me the information that is required to obtain a birth certificate?
Information required to obtain a birth certificate can be mailed to you upon request.
What if I do not have a birth certificate for myself, my parent(s) or grandparent(s)?
The Consulate can assist applicants in getting a birth certificate for themselves, their parent(s) or grandparents(s) from St Kitts and Nevis.

It takes 3 months or more to process a citizenship by descent application from the date that the documents are received in St Kitts and Nevis.
Can I apply for citizenship for my children at the same time?
Yes, you may apply for your children’s citizenship at the same time of your application.

No, you must be granted citizenship before applying for your spouse.

No, you may only apply for a St Kitts and Nevis passport after you have been granted citizenship.
