PM HARRIS ATTENDS 101st MEETING OF THE MONETARY COUNCIL OF THE ECCB

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, February 26, 2022 (Press Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister) – Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr. The Honourable Timothy Harris participated in the 101st meeting of the Monetary Council of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) on Friday, February 25, 2022.

Prime Minister Harris was accompanied by Financial Secretary, Mrs. Hilary Hazel.

The meeting discussed several matters including the Fintech Pilot Project (DCash), monetary and financial stability, growth and competitiveness as well as enhancing the resilience of supply chains. Several updates were also received on BAICO and CLICO, the Eastern Caribbean Asset Management Corporation and on the status of the Eastern Caribbean Partial Credit Guarantee Corporation.

The next meeting of the Monetary Council is slated for Friday, July 22, 2022 in St. Lucia.
