Interested parties are hereby invited to submit a technical & financial proposal for the services outlined below. Do read the information and instructions carefully to ensure compliance.
Background
As technology continues to play a pivotal role in the education and assessment sector, it is imperative to ensure that testing centers are equipped with robust and efficient server systems. The Department of Technology is currently partnered with Pearson VUE to provide Testing Center services within the Small Training Room of the National ICT Centre. This room consists of 12 tester PCs and one main PC, all connected to the internet and Pearson VUE’s services via a dedicated physical server. The server is currently functional and awaiting the installation of specific services as outlined in the Scope of Work section.
Scope of Work
The proposer will conduct a thorough assessment of the current server setup, identify any potential vulnerabilities or inefficiencies, and implement necessary changes to optimize performance. The key services to be set up include:
1. AD: Active directory for the computers in the training room only. It enables administrators to manage permissions and access to network resources.
2. ADDS (Active Directory Domain Services): A server role in Active Directory that allows admins to manage and store information about resources from a network, as well as application data, in a distributed database.
3. DHCP: Automatically provides and assigns IP addresses, default gateways and other network parameters to client devices.
4. DNS: Provides computer name-to-IP address mapping name resolution services to computers and users.
5. R&RA: Routing and Remote Access, it allows the servers to act as a router and perform NAT.
6. Certification: Responsible for attesting to the identity of users, computers, and organizations.
7. IIS: Used to exchange static and dynamic web content with internet users. IIS can be used to host, deploy, and manage web applications using technologies such as ASP.NET and PHP.
