SAINT KITTS AND NEVIS JOINS CARICOM AND THE REPUBLIC OF GUYANA IN HUMANITARIAN EFFORT FOR VENEZUELA
Basseterre, Saint Kitts, July 06, 2026 (SKNIS): The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis, in collaboration with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Republic of Guyana, has prepared a shipment of medical and food supplies for delivery to the people of Venezuela as part of a regional humanitarian initiative.
The donation reflects the Region’s continued commitment to solidarity, compassion, and mutual support during times of need. The supplies, which include essential medical items and food products, have been assembled and are ready for transport to Venezuela.
Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, the Honourable Dr. Terrance Drew, emphasised that the initiative is a testament to the Caribbean’s enduring spirit of unity and shared responsibility.
“The Caribbean has always understood that our greatest strength lies in our unity and our willingness to stand with one another in times of need. Today, we extend not only medical and food supplies to the people of Venezuela, but also a message of hope, friendship, and solidarity,” said Prime Minister Dr. Drew. “Saint Kitts and Nevis is proud to stand alongside our CARICOM brothers and sisters and the Republic of Guyana in demonstrating that compassion knows no borders. Together, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting our neighbours and building a stronger, more resilient region.”
This humanitarian effort underscores the importance of regional cooperation and demonstrates the shared values that unite CARICOM Member States in responding to the needs of neighbouring countries.
The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis remains committed to working alongside its regional partners to provide meaningful assistance where it is most needed and to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.
The government extends its sincere appreciation to CARICOM, the Republic of Guyana, and all individuals and agencies whose contributions have made this humanitarian mission possible. It is hoped that these supplies will provide timely relief and comfort to the people of Venezuela during this challenging period.
