International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) at a
celebratory ceremony and international symposium held in Taipei.
The TaiwanICDF 30th Anniversary Celebration Ceremony and International
Symposium took place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the Grand Hotel.
His Excellency Dr. Lin Chia-Lung, Chairman of TaiwanICDF and Minister of
Foreign Affairs, delivered the opening remarks, highlighting Taiwan’s
longstanding commitment to international development cooperation.
“Taiwan can help, and partners can lead,” Minister Lin said, describing
Taiwan’s foreign assistance model as one founded on partnership and mutual
respect.
Representatives of partner countries, including Saint Christopher and Nevis,
the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Japan, the United States of America,
and the European Union, also delivered congratulatory remarks.
Ambassador of Saint Christopher (Saint Kitts) and Nevis to the Republic of
China (Taiwan) and Acting Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, His Excellency
Ambassador Donya L. Francis expressed appreciation for TaiwanICDF’s
enduring commitment to improving lives across the globe.
“Today, we celebrate an institution that has consistently demonstrated that
meaningful international cooperation is built not only through financial
assistance, but through investing in people, strengthening institutions, and
creating opportunities for sustainable development,” Ambassador Francis
said.
“The projects undertaken are not simply development initiatives; they are
expressions of mutual respect, shared values, and genuine friendship,” he
added.
Established in 1996, TaiwanICDF is Taiwan’s principal government-funded
foreign assistance agency. Through technical cooperation, humanitarian
assistance, education, and capacity-building initiatives, the organisation
works with partner countries to promote sustainable socio-economic
development, strengthen human resources, and foster international
cooperation.
Among the featured exhibits at the event were the Solid Waste Management
and Recycling Project and the Digital Identity Authentication System Project,
both implemented through the longstanding partnership between the
Governments of Saint Christopher and Nevis and the Republic of China
