Ministry of Environment, Climate Action and Constituency Empowerment Launches June Environment Month 2026 with Engaging Activity Line-Up
Basseterre, Saint Kitts, 1 June 2026 – The Ministry of Environment, Climate Action and Constituency Empowerment announces its celebration of Environment Month 2026 under the theme Climate Action: For Environment, For Empowerment, For Everyone. The month-long series of activities – executed with the support of the observance’s Official Sustainability Partner, the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank – promises to be a vibrant experience designed to highlight the importance of environmental stewardship and inspire public awareness, engagement, and active participation across the Federation.
The month’s official launch is scheduled for Friday 5th June, World Earth Day, with an opening ceremony in the Independence Square.

Environment Month aims to:
· Celebrate the dynamism and critical importance of environmental stewardship;
· Strengthen connections between the Ministry and the public;
· Encourage widespread participation in environmental activities and initiatives; and
· Showcase the work and dedication of the Ministry of Environment, Climate Action and Constituency Empowerment, the Solid Waste Management Corporation, and the Parks and Beaches Unit.
The observance is guided by a dynamic Calendar of Activities which features community clean-ups, social media challenges, a Forest Dash, school and youth-based engagements, radio visits, a collaboration with the St. Kitts Music Festival and the Month’s flagship event – the Green Expo.
The Ministry, through these celebrations, is underscoring that environmental awareness and action are collective responsibilities that can be undertaken creatively, interactively and in ways that are enjoyable and fulfilling. Individuals, communities, and organizations are encouraged to come out and actively participate in the month’s events.
“Environment Month is not only a celebration of the many ways environmental stewardship takes shape – it is also a call to action for our people to connect with the Ministry and get involved with our work and our mandate on a deeper level”, said The Hon. Dr. Joyelle Clarke, Minister of Environment, Climate Action and Constituency Empowerment. “We invite everyone to join us as we strive to creatively and innovatively protect and preserve our beautiful Saint Kitts and Nevis”.
