STATEMENT re: COMMISSIONER OF CORRECTIONS PLACED ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE

The Ministry of National Security in the Government of St. Christopher and Nevis wishes to inform the general public that effective immediately, Commissioner of Corrections Mr Franklin Dorset, has been placed on administrative leave. This decision was made to uphold fairness and transparency following the recent legal proceedings involving his daughter, Crown ProsecutorShantrice Dorset, who was charged on January 23rd, 2025, and subsequently remanded to His Majesty’s Prison.

The Ministry of National Security is resolutely dedicated to ensuring transparency, fairness, and the steadfast enforcement the Federation’s laws. We further emphasise that our judicial systemisdedicated to delivering impartial justice while maintaining the highest standards of accountability and transparency throughout this and all other relevant proceedings.
