MINISTER OF TOURISM ANNOUNCES ADDITION OF NEW AIRLINE
Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 4, 2024 (SKNIS): The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis in its efforts to continue to enhance its tourism product has revealed some significant developments aimed at strengthening the connectivity of St. Kitts and improve its appeal as a travel destination.
Starting December 7, 2024, Cape Air will launch flights from St. Thomas to St. Kitts four times weekly, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The move was a response to long standing calls from the diaspora for greater accessibility to the Federation.
Minister Henderson, in making the announcement at the Tourism Press Conference on October 31 said, “This new service, not only provides for our diaspora in the United States Virgin Islands, but it also enhances our connectivity to important source markets such as Boston where we currently have limited service.”
Additionally, Minister Henderson shared plans for Delta Airlines’ non-stop service from JFK to St. Kitts, set to resume on December 21, 2024, and continue until April 26, 2025. The Honourable Minister added that her plan as Minister of Tourism is to improve the seasonal Delta flights to a year-round occurrence
The announcement marked a moment of progress and hope, with new routes promising to strengthen bonds within the region and extend the island’s reach into major markets.
