ST. KITTS AND NEVIS AIMS TO BECOME THE CARIBBEAN’S ARTS CAPITAL WITH FIRST-EVER CREATIVE POWER ARTS CONVENTION
Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 15, 2024 (SKNIS): St. Kitts and Nevis is taking bold steps to solidify its reputation as the Caribbean’s premier arts hub with the launch of its inaugural Creative Power Arts Convention, slated for August 31 to September 07, 2024, at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort.
This event is set to bring together top talents and industry leaders from across the region, showcasing the twin-island Federation’s commitment to fostering creativity and cultural exchange.
On the August 14 edition of InFocus, Roberitine Webbe, Director of the Department of Creative Economy, said that the overwhelming response to the announcement of the first-ever Creative Power Arts Convention has fueled this ambitious goal.
Webbe noted that participants from across the Caribbean, including countries like Saint. Lucia, Saint Eustatius, St. Maarten, Trinidad, and Jamaica, will be travelling to St. Kitts to join the event.
Casim Pemberton, Marketing and Communications Officer, highlighted that the Creative Power Arts Convention is expected to have a positive impact not only on creatives but also on the local economy.
“I can see where creatives will be able to utilise these facilitators to advance their businesses and skill sets,” said Mr. Pemberton. “Some of these facilitators are scouting talent, and we are working to ensure that our creatives are positioned to be the ones who get noticed.”
Mr. Pemberton expressed confidence that the convention’s impact will be significant, provided they can turn the insights gained into tangible success.
