Ministry Calls for Cease to Spread of Inaccurate Information
Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis [Ministry of Health] – The Ministry of Health’s attention was drawn to another inaccurate article published by an online publication where reference was made to a door whose repair is part of the overall refurbishment of JNF Hospital.
The public can rest assured that all essential repairs at the JNF Hospital are progressing well, planned or have been completed.
These efforts include the repair of the roof, installation of air-conditioning units, refurbishment of equipment left exposed to the elements for years, purchase of new equipment for eye surgery, purchase of a brand-new CT-scan, receipt of a new donated EEG machine, receipt of new donated EKG machines, redesign and refresh of the entrance foyer, refurbishment of the food service unit, refurbishment of the central sterilization unit, and more.
These activities are in line with the policy position that service users and providers deserve the best possible conditions to ensure positive health outcomes.
The Ministry also takes this opportunity to encourage members of the media to reach out to our communications office. We welcome the opportunity to help avoid the spread of inaccurate information, as we believe presenting the public with a complete picture is not only the duty and responsibility of the press, but an integral part of delivering consistent and professional healthcare.
The Ministry also welcomes suggestions and partners in the ongoing drive to improve.
