Taipei, Republic of China (Taiwan), April 22nd, 2024 (Embassy of
Saint Christopher and Nevis) – On Sunday, April 21st, 2024, the Saint
Kitts and Nevis’s Embassy in Taiwan inspired others to take action by
hosting a mountain cleanup event in celebration of World Earth Day.
His Excellency Donya L. Francis, the Federation’s Ambassador to Taiwan,
led a group of Saint Kitts and Nevis nationals, embassy staff, and friends on
a walk to the Jiantan hiking trail in Shilin District, Taipei.
Throughout the trail, an assortment of refuse, including plastic materials,
was collected.
Speaking to the participants, His Excellency Donya L. Francis said, “As
responsible global citizens, we must acknowledge that our actions have a
profound impact on the planet we call home. We must work together to
ensure that our Earth remains a healthy and vibrant place for all living
creatures.”
Ambassador Francis thanked all the participants for their valuable
contributions to this significant event and reminded them that every day is
Earth Day.
“Let’s take necessary steps to safeguard the environment and promote
sustainable practices for the future. Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd,
but every day is Earth Day for us,” remarked Ambassador Francis
