18.01.23 – REX V DEVON FORDE

Devon Forde, aged 40, received a 10-year sentence for the unlawful carnal knowledge of a 13-year-old girl. He pleaded guilty and received full credit for his early plea, resulting in a reduced sentence of 10 years.

24.01.23 – REX V LISA FRANCIS

Lisa Francis awaits sentencing for perverting the course of public justice. Convicted by a jury, she helped her son escape firearms charges, abusing her position as an immigration officer. She received a 3.5-year sentence for perverting the course of public justice. 

14.02.23 – REX V JONATHAN RAWLINS

Jonathan Rawlins, aged 21, received an 18-month suspended sentence for receiving stolen cash. He cooperated fully can expect to serve it in full if he re-offends, providing incentive it is hoped now to keep out of trouble.

20.02.23 – REX V RUPERT BRIDGEWATER

Rupert Bridgewater received a 45-month sentence (3y9m) for indecent assault. He pleaded guilty, and the sentence was reduced due to cooperation and weaknesses in the evidence.

23.02.23 – REX V KEVIN KELLY

Kevin Kelly received 2 years of probation for house-breaking with assistance to get a job and be supported by regular probation meetings. He stole items worth EC$2,058 and showed learning difficulties.

23.02.23 – REX V T’QUANJE DICKENSON

T’Quanje Dickenson received a 5-year sentence for robbery. He pleaded guilty, showing remorse, good character, and cooperation with the police, resulting in a reduced sentence.

24.02.23 – REX V KIMBA WHATTLEY

Kimba Whattley received a 45-year sentence for murder. 

21.04.23 – REX V ALEXIS LIDDIE

Alexis Liddie received 2 years of probation and a EC$4,000 compensation order for housebreaking and criminal damage or in default of payment, 6 months imprisonment. His involvement was influenced by poverty, and probation was granted for potential rehabilitation.

21.04.23 – REX V AMARIE BROWNE

Amarie Browne received a 16-month suspended sentence for participation in larceny from the person. His limited involvement and good character resulted in a suspended sentence. Browne was assessed a person who could be rehabilitated.

02.05.23 – REX V VERON RICHARDSON

Veron Richardson received a 22-year sentence for rape and house-breaking with an imitation gun. He pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity.

15.05.23 – REX V ASHLEY HARRIS

Ashley Harris received a 33-year sentence for the separate rapes of two schoolgirls, aged 13 and 16. He pleaded guilty to both offences.

05.06.23 – REX V ALEXANDER SAMUEL

Alexander Samuel received a 15-month sentence for the possession of a firearm. He cooperated with the police and received a reduced sentence.

28.09.23 – REX V JAMARIE JAMES & AKEEM HERBERT

Jamarie James and Akeem Herbert received a 28-month sentence for robbery. Both showed remorse and cooperated, with Herbert having mental challenges.

29.09.23 – REX V STANFORD WILLIAMS

Stanford Williams, aged 42, received a 10-year sentence for a violent burglary. He received full credit for an early guilty plea.

04.10.23 – REX V SAMANTHA HUGGINS

Samantha Huggins, a former court bailiff, was convicted on two counts of fraudulent conversion. She unlawfully retained funds meant for settling court warrants. Samantha Huggins was re-sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for two counts of fraudulent conversion involving misappropriation of funds from court debtors.

04.10.23 – REX V KEEANE RICHARDS

Keeane Richards, aged 22, was sentenced to 15 years for three robbery offences. The crimes involved weapons and occurred in 2020 and 2022. Richards, motivated by financial hardship, pleaded guilty, and the sentences were structured concurrently and consecutively.

09.10.23 – REX V KYLE HENDRICKS

Kyle Hendricks received a 10 year sentence for two counts of unlawful carnal knowledge involving a 13-year-old girl in 2020. Hendricks pleaded guilty to the charges.

16.10.23 – REX V ADRIAN JUSTIN BART

Adrian Bart was convicted of indecent assault on an 11-year-old girl and awaits sentencing after a social inquiry report. The incident occurred on 03.07.19, involving inappropriate touching during a car ride. Bart is in custody until the sentencing on 28.11.23.

27.10.23 – REX V DION BROWNE

Dion Browne pleaded guilty to burglary with intent to commit indecent assault. Sentenced to time served, Browne entered a residence in an inappropriate attempt to wake someone. On 17.10.23, the judge conducted a Goodyear indication of sentence and calculated an appropriate sentence of 20 months on a plea of guilty, of which two-thirds could be expected to be served, meaning he had already served what might be expected, so that the sentence was pronounced as time served.

03.11.23 – REX V RYAN WARNER

Ryan Warner pleaded guilty to housebreaking and receiving stolen items, receiving a 33-month sentence. The charges involved stealing computer items and mobile phones. Warner’s limited previous convictions were considered during sentencing.

06.11.23 – REX V MAILK HUGHES

Mailk Hughes, 18, pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and received a suspended 2-year sentence. The incident occurred when Hughes, 15 at the time, attacked an older individual with a machete. Compensation was offered, and failure to pay may result in 12 months in default.

06.11.23 – REX V DEAN BODDIE

Dean Boddie pleaded guilty to burglary and received a 42-month sentence. The offense involved stealing household items. Boddie’s sentence was influenced by previous convictions.

09.11.23 – REX V ERNESTO LAWRENCE

Ernesto Lawrence pleaded guilty to housebreaking and received a suspended 2-year sentence. The judge decided the community best served by holding over Lawrence the sentence to encourage he go straight, which had not been tried before, so it was suspended for 2 years, with warning time on remand would not necessarily count if activated if there is further offending.

15.11.23 – REX V JESUS VALDEZ

Jesus Valdez received a 33-month sentence for burglary and receiving charges. Valdez pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity. Despite time served, he remains in custody due to other pending matters.

16.11.23 – REX V ANDRE MATTHEWS

Andre Matthews pleaded guilty to indecent assault, receiving a suspended 2-year sentence with a compensation order. The victim refused imprisonment but sought acknowledgment of the criminal act and financial compensation.

17.11.23 – REX V JOVANIE DUNCAN

Jovanie Duncan pleaded guilty to housebreaking and received a 66-month sentence. The offense involved threats, violence, and theft.

24.11.23 – REX V JEFF TYSON

Jeff Tyson received a 28-month sentence for housebreaking. He pleaded guilty, cooperating fully, and received credit for his early plea.

24.11.23 – REX V STANLEY WARDE

Stanley Warde pleaded guilty to housebreaking and received a suspended 2-year sentence. The judge emphasized the suspended sentence as a deterrent against further offenses.

27.11.23 – REX V ALEXIS WILLIAMS

Alexis Williams pleaded guilty to larceny by finding and received a conditional discharge for 12 months. 

06.12.23 – REX V KELLIAN HAZEL

Kellian Hazel pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving. He received a suspended 6-month sentence, ordered to pay EC$180,000 compensation to the victim’s daughter, and faces a two-year driving disqualification.
