The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), entrusted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ROC (Taiwan) and assisted by the Taiwanese Embassy in St. Kitts and Nevis, is proud to announce the much-awaited 2023 Taiwan Expo in St. Kitts and Nevis. This prestigious event will be held at the Visitor Centre, Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park, Nevis, from August 2nd to August 5th. The Expo is set to commemorate the 40th anniversary of official diplomatic relations between Taiwan and St. Kitts and Nevis, strengthening the bond between the two nations.
At the Taiwan Expo, visitors will have the unique opportunity to witness the latest offerings from 26 Taiwanese companies representing a diverse range of industries. One of them is visiting in person and specialises in high-quality scissors, knives and sharpeners (official website: http://taiwanscissors.submit.com.tw/en/gardentool.htm ). The other showcased products include health supplements, sealing machines, solar products, house accessories, leisure foods, and cutting-edge ICT products such as smartphones, laptops, VR devices, dashcams, and LED smart projectors. Notably, all the ICT products on display have been awarded the prestigious Taiwan Excellence Awards, a testament to their innovation and superior quality.
Moreover, the Expo promises an immersive experience of Taiwanese culture, as visitors can indulge in the renowned Taiwanese bubble tea and other delightful beverages. Alongside this, a plethora of engaging activities awaits, including captivating VR experiences, and Taiwanese night market games such as balloon darts, pinball, and ring toss. Hold Enterprise Co., Ltd. (Uncle Bubble) will also showcase their bubble toys, which have earned multiple Guinness World Records. This promises endless fun as visitors create and pop bubbles with their families and friends. Three renowned Taiwanese movies will also be played throughout the Expo, in the evening on August 2nd to 4th, and in the afternoon and evening of August 5th.
Following the successful precedents during the past two years, this year’s Taiwan Expo also invited selected local businesses to participate and showcase their products, and recruited students from the youth volunteer programme local young people to assist with the organisation of Expo activities. This collaboration further demonstrates the inclusiveness of bilateral cooperation between Taiwan and St. Kitts and Nevis that fosters ties between the two societies. The Expo serves as a platform for these participants to engage with Taiwanese companies, promoting knowledge exchange and strengthening the bonds of friendship between our communities.
The Taiwan Expo not only brings cultural exchange but also highlights the significant trade opportunities between St. Kitts and Nevis and Taiwan. According to the Bureau of Foreign Trade, bilateral trade between the two nations reached US$ 1.56 million in 2022. Notable Taiwanese exports to St. Kitts and Nevis include electrical machinery and equipment, sound recorders and reproducers, as well as articles of iron or steel. The Expo acts as a gateway to tap into these vast trade prospects and create enduring business partnerships, harvesting the tremendous trade opportunities between Taiwan and St. Kitts and Nevis.
Through this celebration of diplomatic ties and trade opportunities, we aim to foster lasting relationships that will drive mutual growth and prosperity. Don’t miss this exceptional occasion to experience the best of Taiwanese products and culture while exploring promising trade prospects. We eagerly await your presence at the Taiwan Expo in St. Kitts and Nevis. See you there!
