MINISTER OF TOURISM WELCOMES SEABOURN OVATION TO THE FEDERATION OF ST. KITTS & NEVIS
Basseterre, St. Kitts, November 26, 2021 (SKNIS): Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Lindsay Grant, welcomed the Seabourn Ovation to the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis on its inaugural visit.
In his speech during the Plaque Exchange Ceremony on November 25, he stated that “It is clear that Seabourn is a longstanding partner of this destination and as a destination we value it and we value the confidence and the trust that you reposed in our destination which continues to be quite evident.”
He continued, “Over the years we have welcomed the Seabourn Legend, Seabourn Quest, Seabourn Spirit, Seabourn Odyssey, Seabourn Pride, and the Seabourn Sojourn and so it is indeed noteworthy to highlight that Seabourn Ovation is now the seventh ship from the cruise line to make calls to St. Kitts.”
Minister Grant also stated that the Seabourn Cruise Line was the first cruise line to return to St. Kitts since the pandemic forced the closure of the sector in March 2020. He applauded the cooperation for this feat.
He said, “This is a truly symbiotic relationship that has been nurtured over the years, not just with Seabourn but also with Carnival Corporation, your parent company.”
The arrival of the Seabourn Ovation marks the Federation’s fifth inaugural call since the destination opened and resumed operations on July 22, 2021, with the arrival of the Seabourn Odyssey.
To date, the Federation has welcomed 26 calls for the Month of November and a total of 35,618 passengers and was able to host the Marella Discovery, which made an unscheduled call on November 25.
The Seabourn is an ultra-luxury cruise line that appeals to the more discerning traveler and guests when they are not ashore and engage in authentic experiences. Guests enjoy the luxury of their rooms with their own private verandahs, and intimate restaurants offering international flavors and cuisine, inspired by Seabourn Sparta and Chef Thomas Keller.
